Cloudscript

"In the fall of 2023, the beach at Gulfport, Mississippi was alive with thousands of black skimmers. I caught them flocking beneath a cloudy afternoon sky, their silhouettes slicing through the gray like living brushstrokes.

"The sky is a canvas of soft, layered grays—clouds thick and mottled, like brushed charcoal. Against this muted backdrop, a flock of black skimmers fills the frame in mid-flight. Their silhouettes are sharp and angular, wings outstretched in various positions: some gliding, some banking, some caught mid-flap. The birds are scattered yet cohesive, like musical notes flung across a staff of sky.

Each skimmer is a dark slash against the light, their long wings and forked tails giving them a sleek, almost calligraphic presence. The flock moves as if stirred by an unseen rhythm, a choreography of instinct and wind. Below them, faint silhouettes of street lamps and poles rise like quiet sentinels—suggesting an urban or coastal edge, where nature and infrastructure meet without speaking.

The black and white palette strips the scene to its essentials: motion, contrast, and mood. There’s no color to distract, only the stark interplay of shape and shadow. The birds seem both wild and deliberate, like a ritual unfolding above the quiet geometry of the human world." - Copilot

Ashes of the Afternoon

This photograph captures the sunset to the west of my home. Silhouetted treetops line the bottom of the frame, quiet and dark. Above them, the sky ignites—scattered clouds drift at varying heights, catching the light. The colors shift upward: yellow near the horizon, fading into pale blue overhead. The clouds themselves wear a palette of gray, gold, orange, and deep red, each one lit differently by the sun’s retreat.

For those who love skies set ablaze with color—sunsets that linger, clouds that speak in texture and light—my gallery holds a collection crafted just for you.

"The sky is ablaze with color, as if the sun decided to exit the day with a flourish. Deep oranges and molten reds bleed into golden yellows, while cooler streaks of blue and violet linger at the edges like fading breath. The clouds are thick and dramatic—some billowing like smoke, others stretched thin like pulled wool—each one lit from beneath by the sun’s final fire, glowing as if they’ve been set alight.

Below this celestial drama, the land retreats into shadow. Trees stand in silhouette, their branches tangled and quiet, while power lines cut across the scene like graphite sketches—human marks against nature’s canvas. The contrast between the fiery sky and the dark earth feels like a moment suspended between worlds: light and dark, day and night, presence and memory." - Copilot

'in die Luft geschaut'

Dieser Flieger beschrieb weiter seine seltsamen Kreise, während ich das Foto machte... Ein betrunkener Pilot oder ein ganz neuer Flugschüler? Oder Sky-Painting?

It is today... So let me introduce my :

I'm a hobby photographer mainly in the field of ( as well as and some ). I also do of mainly realistic . You can find these (beside my other work) on my website:

I love to travel the world, hence my hashtag . When not doing that, I am an engineer/scientist in the field of power semiconductors.

Scotland, Loch Lomond, near perfect reflection of a dramatic sky Namibia, Giants Playground, sunset over a quiver tree with a thunderstorm in the background Chile, Torres del Paine, a branch of a burnt tree in a lake with a near perfect reflection of the Cuernos Iceland, Diamond Beach, a piece of clear glacier ice on a black sand beach with the sun setting behind it

I took the big rig up to Siblyback lake today, Sony A7R IVA + Sony FE 400-800mm to capture some wildlife shots.

I just about managed to dodge the rain until I was on the way back ! It was definitely a good test for the Sony A7R IVA weather sealing.

I saw so many different types of birds today including Herons, Canadian Geese, Robins, Ducks, Swallows and Egrets to name a few.

I hope you enjoy the photos.
