This might be my favorite piece of pixel art I've done until now. Made on a phone and based on this photo by my pal https://www.jordimachi.com/

Chrysanthemum in Bloom

This is an overhead photograph of a yellow chrysanthemum, also known as a florist's daisy or hardy garden mum. The edges of the image are intentionally darkened, drawing attention to the flower’s vibrant center. Its layered petals peel back in a way that reminds me of the "blooming onion" served at restaurants, creating a striking visual effect. The petals unfold from the core, revealing a deep, shadowed center that adds an air of mystery. Too numerous to count, the petals transition from a rich yellow at the heart to a soft lime green at the outer edges, enhancing the chrysanthemum's intricate beauty.

I don't always take great photographs, but when I do, you can find them at:

"The image showcases a stunning chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum indicum), its layered petals radiating outward in a mesmerizing display of color and texture. The intricate arrangement of the flower gives it a full, almost sculptural appearance, with each petal contributing to the overall elegance. The chrysanthemum’s vibrant hues, whether soft pastels or rich autumnal tones, contrast beautifully against its natural background. Light filters gently across the petals, enhancing their delicate folds and creating depth within the bloom." - Copilot

Good morning. 💮💮💮

29 May 2025

When I was a child, we lived at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. One day, I got into trouble after collecting a vessel full of small mollusks—clams and similar creatures—along the sea wall and bringing them home. My mother quickly admonished me and ordered me to get rid of them. Since we lived on the third floor of a three-story building, rather than returning them to the sea wall, I took them to the laundry room on the second floor. The room had windows that overlooked the entryway cover—a flat surface extending from the building. In those days, air conditioning wasn’t common, so the windows were usually open. Without much thought, I dumped my collection out the window onto that surface. Needless to say, my poor judgment earned me another scolding a day or two later when the unmistakable scent began wafting into the building.

"Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment." — Will Rogers

Magnolia’s Quiet Glow

"The magnolia flower blooms in stunning elegance, its creamy white petals unfurling in a gentle, symmetrical embrace. Each petal curves softly outward, smooth and almost luminous under the daylight. At the center, a vibrant cone-shaped cluster of stamens stands proudly, rich in golden hues that contrast beautifully with the pale petals. Surrounding the flower, deep green leaves frame the composition, their glossy surfaces reflecting light, adding depth and balance to the scene. The air around the magnolia seems serene, capturing a quiet moment of nature’s grace." - Copilot

'Hätte ich doch ein Tele gehabt...' ist irgendwie etwas das mir wunderselten passiert.

Im Normalfall hab ich praktisch immer entweder das 55-210 (APS-c) oder die RX100VI (mit 200mm Kleinbildäquivalent eingebaut) dabei.

(okay, ab und zu ein Spaziergang nur mit dem 25mm)

Was ich aber fast täglich habe? „Hätte ich doch nur mehr/schärferes Tele…!“

Ich stehe auf Tele!
