Me + @dx made a project for #39c3 this year, in which we made 5 DIY air purifiers a la Corsi-Rosenthal Cubes, but modified to be more portable, easier to take apart and put together, and overall be congress-safe. We had them at Angel Restaurant (2), CERT (2) and Kidspace (1), so you may have seen them around.

We just finished taking them apart for the year and threw out most of the filters as they looked really dark, and with that we're done with 39c3 🎉

As for the amount: We've spent about 700eur not including the costs of prototyping, and for next year we plan to build even more of them to meet the demand. We don't intend to make a profit, so I might edit this post later if donations reach too high an amount (but I doubt we'll get there).

Things like student loan debt is great, because it puts workers into massive debt before going into the workforce, which gives capitalists leverage over us.
But really it doesn't go far enough. We should just be born with debt. Babies have been getting off scot-free for far too long.

I always find it funny when Americans make profanity a huge deal. Like "omg they're dropping the F-bomb in this episode! first F-bomb in the whole franchise!" or whatever.
As a European, I don't even _notice_ these.
It's usually only when I'm reading reviews or discussions or watching reaction videos that I even realize that someone said "fucking" in a particular scene.
Typeface nerds get one main thing wrong: typefaces are infrastructure and infrastructure should be as invisible as possible. If anyone who's not a typeface nerd is paying attention to the typeface then the publisher's done something terrible.
#Sinnlose Überlegung des Tages:
"Imperial" ist sowohl der Name einer (Schaum-)Weinflaschengröße (6 Liter, also doppelt so viel wie 'ne Doppelmagnum) also auch einer Schriftgröße (108 Punkt, ziemlich groß) und eines klassischen (britischen) Papierformats (22 × 30 inch, also ca. 55,9 × 76,2 cm). Das heißt, es gäbe einen komplett sinnbefreiten Weg, Flaschen-, Papier- und Schriftgrößen ineinander umzurechnen, was verallgemeinert bedeutet, daß man darüber Längen-, Flächen- und Raummaße ineinander umrechnen kann.
"Piccolo" hätte dementsprechend als Schriftart eine Punktgröße von ca. 3,6. Eine "Garamond"-Flasche wäre etwas über einen halben Liter, "Sublime" wäre Schriftgröße 2.700 und "Adelaide" hätte als Papierbogen eine Fläche von ungefähr 7m².

Jeder schafft sein eigenes "Jahr des Linux -Desktop", sei es durch erstmaliges Ausprobieren, den Umstieg oder durch dauerhaftes Nicht-Nutzens anderer Betriebssysteme.

Worauf eigentlich euphorisch hin gearbeitet werden sollte, ist
