@julian @pixelschubsi I understand the instinct of wanting to reuse the parts you already have. Protocol parsing, identities, profiles etc. However those will very quickly become extremely minor building blocks in the complexity of instant messaging.
It's very easy to underestimate the scope and feature creep of IM. I've seen this happening in other places where people initially think that IM is just passing some messages around. And then users demand more features and then you reinvent XMPP.

Mit dem #TTArtisan50mmTilt an der #Alpha6000 in der Nacht rumgespielt. Gegenlicht und Reflexionen sind echt nicht die StĂ€rke dieser Optik. Fiese blaugrĂŒne Effekte und nicht mal so schöne Sterne wie beim 25mm des selben Herstellers.
Das 35er ignoriert zumindest Lichteinfall von der Seite - auch das macht dieses nicht so schön.
Ok #homeautomation friends. I have a new wood burning fireplace. One of its features is a thermocouple thermometer in the catalytic converter. Iâm supposed to use that temperature to help know when to engage the damper.
It has hard-wired leads that plug into the bottom of this device (that came with the stove). Fitting a new/additional thermometer to the fireplace is not realistic (I donât think). But is there a device that can take these leads and can read the temperature? I want to add something to #homeassistant so I donât have to look at the device and so I donât have to keep replacing batteries in it.
I could hook up an ESP32 or similar with something going to a GPIO or whatever. But I donât know where to start.
Any thoughts? Feel free to boost.

Habe eine Kamera aus einem Laser, galvo-scanner und einer Photodiode gebaut. Die Photodiode ist der "Bildsensor" und hat technisch nur 1 Pixel Auflösung. Der Laser scannt ĂŒber das Objekt und die Photodiode misst die reflektierte Helligkeit, so bekommt man quasi ein Bild :D gerade mit bis zu 4096ÂČ px also ~16 MP
Werde das Setup mit zum #39c3 nehmen und dort weiter dran basteln
