Was schlussfolgert der Staat? → Freiheitsstrafe! Zum Teil werden Menschen daher wegen eines Tagessatz von gerade Mal einem Euro mit Freiheitsentzug bestraft. Obwohl es sich um ein Bagatelldelikt handelt. Bist du ne wirklich arme Socke, sitzt du bis zu zwei Jahren im Knast. Weil du arm bist.
Fahren ohne Fahrschein ist ein Armutsdelikt; die Folge: Knast.
Noch ein Spaßfakt: In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern sind 40% der Neuzugänge in Gefängnissen von Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe betroffen. 20% der Betroffenen waren vorher obdachlos; 16% suizidal; 3 von 4 haben Schulden; 77% waren vorher arbeitslos.¹

Warum es wichtig ist, dass der Mann einen Betreuer hat? Es bedeutet, dass ein Gericht entschieden hat, dass er wegen einer psychischen Erkrankung oder kognitiven Beeinträchtigung seine Angelegenheiten nicht (mehr) selbst regeln kann und Unterstützung braucht. Und jetzt sitzt dieser Mann wegen Fahren ohne Ticket ein.
Diese Strafe trifft Menschen in Krisen.
Wir haben gerade noch einen Mann in Hessen freigekauft. Seine Mutter liegt im Hospiz und will ihn „nochmal sehen“. Sie hatte all ihr Geld beim Gefängnis eingezahlt, aber es reichte nicht. Er saß ein wegen Fahren ohne Ticket.
