Look, the keyboard people need to just accept that I never want to turn off numlock. I don't even know what the buttons do when it is off. No one does.
Big Keyboard is pushing numlock on the entire population against their will. To what end? We can only speculate.
@existentialcomics short for numb-lock
AND they share state when connected to the same computer!

not as perilous as the Scroll Lock key which exists solely to sabotage Excel
I think it must be for people who accidently brush their wrists against the numpad. (How?!?)
Oddly enough, a similar accidental brushing of the bullock key is usually what turns it off in the first place.
Games use it for directional movement stuff, but game code can get around that without a hardware key
@existentialcomics You can fight back. I'm using a short keyboard that doesn't have a numpad or numlock. I touch-type all the numbers from the home row like a total psychopath.
@existentialcomics i mean, my work laptop has one of these unusable clusters, rectifying that is far more important to my keyboard navigation than a numpad đ¤ˇââī¸
