Setting up an account and I have to choose from a set of HILARIOUSLY specific and personal security questions.
"What is your favourite monument?"
"What car do you wish you owned?"
"Who was the first person you were romantically interested in?"
???
@sundogplanets I thought the point of these was that they would be easy for you to remember and difficult for anyone else to guess. These are the sort of thing where you would just pick a random one (and forget it) or they would change over time.
I like others' ideas of treating them like passwords and storing them in a password manager.
Result is always the same… some long alphanumeric string of randomness that's stored securely somewhere

@sundogplanets
What was your father’s first job?
@sundogplanets My cat is called MhepFTRzMWzhTy3nJ$xt@HJ3mFT&~ and my mothers maiden name is #oJrDCqx3behCFz5LCSaP~o4@a`wW. And all this stuff comes out of and is stored in my password manager.
@lilo @sundogplanets The cat is Mhep for short, presumably.
@sundogplanets my technique for account security questions is to use string-of-random-words answers stored in my password manager. Much easier to confirm with customer service reps.
@irvingreid @sundogplanets ah, the old correct-horse-battery-staple approach.
