@wackJackle which liberalism?
@indyradio @wackJackle Liberalism has always been flawed because there cannot be much liberty for most people as long as private property exists. This is why I'm an anarchist and not a liberal.
@indyradio @wackJackle In a capitalist democracy you get as much liberty as your money can buy. You get to vote for the people who make the laws, but you don't get to vote for the bosses who tell you how to do your work.

"The Best Democracy Money Can Buy"
I have to admit, Greg Palast had a few good riffs, (that is one) though he's disappointed me lately, it's likely because he is quite old.
any freedom always is either meaningless or restriction at the same time.
"I'm free to sing whenever I want!" means people will have to hear you.
"I'm free to have a noise-less environment" means people are not allowed to be loud around you.
Liberalism is, at it's core, the reduction of laws. That might be a worthwile idea… if it weren't for all it's proponents never understanding those basic facts and how they are only in for it because they think themselves to be "stronger than others".
No laws? Stronger people can dictate who has to do what.
So in practice Liberalism is just that: rule of the strong/wealthy.
Yay!

@dat @LordCaramac @wackJackle
are you a Conservative? 😜
haha they know how to rope us in. 🍻
@indyradio @dat @wackJackle The trick is not to have anybody make the laws but discuss among the members of each local group what is seen as acceptable or not.
@LordCaramac @dat @wackJackle
Donald Trump thinks that's foolish. 😜 🤡 😂
sounds like maximizing effort to me… but you do you
I'm more for a base set of laws on a scale as-global-as-possible and then have regions/groups (smaller than states, but probably larger than most cities) do what they want… as long as it doesn't conflict with the basic laws.
So like… "Europa der Regionen" but EU needs to be way more democratic for that to look remotely promising.
@dat @LordCaramac @indyradio Private property has to be dealt with. The problem with liberalism is that it puts economic liberalism above everything else. This always means the exclusion of others and the 'free' serfdom of the masses.
