IDK why hw industry decided that nobody uses audio inputs, but it still irks me.
Like… it was a feature of the most basic sound card, back in 1990 to give you 3+ ports:
- audio out
- line in
- microphone in
I kinda get why people don't want three identical looking connectors, that each do different things.
I even understand why nowadays you'd consolidate mic/output into a single connection… often you sacrifice stereo input, but that's okay-ish?
but dropping support for line-in completely?

Gone are the days when there was a 3.5mm headphone jack with SPDIF/Toslink-miniplug included and people were actually trying to make things BETTER instead of cheaper/crappier!
