@cstross There should perhaps be a way of distinguishing the two meanings of “immanentise the eschaton”: the popular Illuminatus! usage (raise Cthulhu from his aeons-long slumber or things to that effect) and the William Buckley usage RAW riffed off (blasphemously try to make the world better, usurping God’s prerogative; originally intended as a theological argument against socialism/social democracy/progressive ideals)
