Nachhaltiger Flugtreibstoff im Test: Weniger CO₂, deutlich weniger Feinstaub https://www.dmz-news.eu/2025/09/03/nachhaltiger-flugtreibstoff-im-test-weniger-co%E2%82%82-deutlich-weniger-feinstaub/

great… now I want a #FPV war drone simulator… https://store.steampowered.com/app/3365170/Firehawk_FPV_Drone_Warfare_Simulator/

no, it has nothing to do with real warfare - but it's an action game with (probably) decent controls.

might be even more fun than simple acro training

Only I'll really not put friggin $20 into some closed source shit that doesn't even work unter linux

Piaggio P180 Avanti II N5760 on final for San Jose International Airport Today, Wednesday November 27th, 2024

@TerryHancock kind of cool futuristic. but loud very very loud and distinct. You know what coming

The landing gear looks spindly lol

USN F/A-18F of VX-9 "The Vampires" on the downwind leg before landing at NAS Pt. Mugu August 2023 Thick marine layer at 1:05 PM and the sun trying to burn through made things interesting to shoot

Ever since my dad started playing MS Flight Simulator he insists on referring to places by their three letter international airport codes. I'm both impressed and saddened by this.

Haha! Can't believe it worked!

A spiral staircase in a grey, concrete carpark. At the top you can see out to the sky, and in the background is Edinburgh Castle with the Red Arrows flying over.

USN F-35C 169939 of VX-9 "Vampires" hard in the break at Pt. Mugu, August 2023 This would have been spectacular view from the inside

What is it with idiots hearing of toroidal props, that always get's them thinking "I know! I'll 3D print a prop and compare it to a bought one to learn if toroidal is any good!"?

1. different material with different density - your motor is moving different masses
2. 3D printing gives you rough sourfaces - meanwhile your traditional props have clean surfaces, because injection moulded
3. you'd need to compare geometries with similar properties - so same thrust at similar speed, while creating similar load for the motors

the internet is full of stupid people.
