Some years ago, it had been years since I had seen or heard one, and was in a park watching over a few kids, when I heard one. I knew immediately from the sound what to look for, and sure enough it flew right overhead, and was very obviously an Avanti. ("Hey kids, look at that!")
I'm not the kind of person who tells you they can recognize a plane or a car by sound, either. It's not subtle.
