Are any of my photography / Fediverse friends here using Pixelfed?
If so, what are your thoughts?
I've just signed up. Seems pretty good so far. I like the calmer/slower/chronological vibe, much like you get on here.
@mikehindleuk did use it for a while (3 years iirc)
Buggy as hell, doesn't do things other Fediverse software doesn't do better. Heck, even media upload and sorting is way worse than on Mastodon.
Nothing was ever fixed - but half-finished functionality got introduced quite often and then abandoned.
So I switched.

A lot has happened since then. And it's never meant to be an online photo manager like Flickr. It's just an insta clone who you can federate to. That's its strength: people can follow you with any of their fediverse accounts.
